Tour Guide Society (TGS)
We are more than an association we are a family. When one member faces hardship, the entire society rises to help. From medical emergencies to bereavement support, from professional training to legal representation, TGS stands beside every member at every stage of their career and life.
Recognized and operating under Tanzanian law, TGS is the trusted voice of tourism professionals in Arusha and beyond.

Life is unpredictable. When a TGS member faces illness, loses a loved one, or encounters an unexpected hardship, they never face it alone. Our welfare system is built on the collective strength of every member pooling resources and compassion when it matters most.
- Bereavement support for members, spouses, children and parents
- Medical support for serious illness requiring hospitalization
- Emergency welfare contributions up to TSh 1,200,000
How To Join TGS
Becoming a TGS member is simple. Follow these four steps and join Tanzania's most supportive tourism community.
Step 1: Contact Us
Reach out to any TGS leader or existing member to express your interest and receive guidance.
Step 2: Read The Constitution
Review and accept the TGS Constitution — the foundation of everything our society stands for.
Step 3: Pay Registration Fee
Complete your registration by paying the one-time joining fee of TSh 100,000 plus your first membership dues.
Step 4: Enjoy Full Benefits
After a 3-month observation period, unlock your full TGS membership benefits including welfare support and more.
