Welfare & Support
We Stand With Our Members
At the heart of Tour Guide Society is a simple but powerful promise: when one of us struggles, all of us respond. Our welfare system was built by tourism professionals who understand firsthand how unpredictable life and work in this industry can be.
Through collective member contributions, TGS provides meaningful support during life’s most difficult moments illness, loss, and emergencies so that no member ever has to face them alone.
How We Support Our Members
Bereavement Support
Financial support is provided for the loss of a member, their spouse, children, or registered parents and guardians.
Medical Support
Members hospitalized for 3 or more days due to serious illness — such as fractures or critical conditions — receive support from the society.
Professional & Development Support
Beyond emergencies, TGS supports members through education, tourism updates, legal guidance, and career development opportunities.
How Welfare Support Works
- A member reports an eligible hardship to TGS leadership
- The committee reviews and confirms eligibility
- Members are notified and contribute within 21 days
- Funds are released through the official TGS account at NMB Bank
Maximum welfare payout per qualifying event: TSh 1,200,000
"Umoja ni Nguvu Unity is Strength. This is the belief that built TGS, and it's the belief that holds us together every single day."
